Barbara Basta
Barbara has extensive experience as an executive manager with leading property / casualty Canadian re/insurers in head office and branch operational roles such as underwriting, marketing, and product development. She has global experience through international strategic planning postings and management roles in the United Kingdom. Her insurance roles include broad ranging responsibilities across all business lines focusing in casualty and specialty commercial classes. Barbara holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Masters in Business Administration. She earned her FCIP as the top graduate in Canada and has been involved with the academic council for the Insurance Institute of Canada. Barbara’s strong competencies are technical underwriting, strategic planning, establishing best practices, research and analysis, auditing, and communications.
Roger Fortier
Roger has more than 40 years’ claims experience specializing across all lines, first as an independent adjuster and then with a major insurer for more than 30 years. With roles in both senior management and quality control, Roger excelled in contract negotiation, file audit, and training including development of various claims courses for the Insurance Institutes and internal company guidelines. Roger has worked as a claim consultant for over 10 years for both the London and domestic market. Roger holds his Fellow, Chartered Insurance Professional (FCIP) from the Insurance Institute and volunteers as an Insurance Ambassador and Mentor with the Insurance Institute of Canada. He is fluently bilingual in English and French, working in claims management in both Ontario and Quebec. Roger is an avid golfer, has six grand kids, and has been a volunteer driver for 10 years for the Cancer Society.
Neil Bishop
Neil 40-year career provides him with broad and in-depth insurance experience in a variety of areas with unique, cross functional skills in underwriting, claims, loss control, marketing, and a specific niche skill in farm exposures. Neil has more than 20 years’ experience in progressively responsible leadership roles in all areas of general insurance operations and management. Neil has a Bachelor of Arts from McMaster University and is a Fellow, Chartered Insurance Professional (FCIP) with IAO certificates in building construction, industrial and process hazards, and rating.
