Jody Meadwell
Jody has over 30 years’ experience in various segments of the insurance industry: underwriting, compliance, risk management, claims, systems, and internal/external audit. She has executive management experience with insurers, managing general agencies, and teams of independent consultants. She focuses on project management and internal training & development, handling projects in Canada and the U.S.A. for all standard and specialty lines business. Working with Lloyd’s of London since 2005, Jody has an excellent understanding of the delegated authority market.
Jody has a Bachelor of Business Administration and holds the designations of Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional (FCIP) and Certified Risk Manager (CRM), earning her CIP in Claims. She is active in the insurance industry and youth sports volunteering for organizations such as the Property Casualty Underwriters Association (PCUC) and community baseball and is a current member of the Delegated Authority Underwriters Association (DARA) and Canadian Defense Lawyers (CDL). She currently serves as Vice President of the Risk Management Consultants of Ontario (RMCO).

Miriam Weerasooriya
Miriam has more than 30 years’ experience in all aspects of the insurance industry: claims, underwriting, risk management, marketing, new product development, contract analysis, and training and development. Carrying licenses in key Canadian provinces, Miriam has front-line access to regulatory requirements. Her experience spans insurers, realty, brokerages, and consulting on behalf of various intermediaries and delegated authority
firms. Engagements have taken her across Canada, the United States, and the Caribbean for small and large businesses across personal, commercial, and specialty insurance lines. Her forte is quickly understanding complex ownership structures and associated contractual requirements. Specialties include construction, realty, D&O, E&O, and Environmental Liability.
Miriam has a Bachelor of Business Administration and holds the designations of Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional (FCIP) and Certified Risk Manager (CRM). She is a board member of the Delegated Authority Reviewers’ Association (DARA) and the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) Society, and past chair of the ethics sub-committee. She is a current member of Canadian Defense Lawyers (CDL). Bridging the gap between clients’ and underwriters’ perspectives is a specialty.
Dianne Cassidy
Dianne has over 30 years’ claims experience specializing across all lines including automobile bodily injury and property damage, residential and farm properties, non-auto injury, litigation, and subrogation. She has worked in increasingly progressive management roles for government and private insurers as well as farm mutuals, managing field staff and technical resources. Her responsibilities include all aspects of the claim’s operation including file investigation and documentation, guideline development, reserving accuracy, and settlement authority.
Dianne earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Western Ontario and holds her Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) and Canadian Securities Course (CSC) designations. She is committed to strong service levels, internal training & development, and understands the benefits and drawbacks of in-house and outsourced models. Past projects involve creation of specialized claims units and team leads, restructuring workflow, introducing task-based models, transitioning between systems, and improving investigation timeliness.
Dianne’s most recent work is in a claims and underwriting audit role including compliance and workflow management.
Robert Migneron
Robert has extensive progressive management and underwriting experience with insurers, brokerages, and MGA operations in branch and head office environments. He has represented Lloyd’s of London as a coverholder and auditor for more than 15 years, dealing with all lines of business including specialties in commercial property/casualty, trucking, and professional liability.
He is an excellent team player and leader whose initiative, perseverance, and adaptability to change leads to successful implementation of new initiatives including development of underwriting and training guides and user manuals. He is an excellent coach with a broad knowledge base, analytical reasoning, and a core focus on building client relationships which serves as an asset with systems analysis and implementation. Robert is a Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) and holds a fire prevention technician certificate from the University of Montreal. His career spans work across Canada, refining his insurance skills and technical abilities in both English and French.
Lyle Beaman
Lyle’s extensive career includes a unique blend of technical and industry experience from various international insurers and MGAs including roles in portfolio management, risk management, commercial property/casualty underwriting, claims management, reinsurance treaty negotiation, legal and regulatory compliance, and coverage analysis and development. Specialties include complex accounts such as mining, pharmaceutical & chemical, as well as specialties such as sports & entertainment, professional and church exposures, insurance pools, reinsurance underwriting, and multinational program management. Lyle has a Bachelor of Arts degree and holds the designations of Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional(FCIP) and Certified Risk Manager (CRM). IAO property loss control / prevention and building construction/ appraisal basics from the International Evaluators Academy round out his insurance training.
Lyle’s career spans national and international leadership roles in Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom. Fluent in English and French, his insurance career includes work in both languages. He mentors younger professionals with technical skills training and development of insurance manuals and training guides. Lyle’s has a broad understanding of how clients, brokers, underwriting, claims, and risk engineering partner for best results. Lyle enjoys music, theatre, and antique cars in his spare time..
Gail Ashbury
Gail brings considerable experience in group and health insurance with a focus in special risks and unusual placements. Gail graduated from Queen’s University and started her insurance journey with Aetna Canada handling health & dental claims, progressing to short-term disability and complete group benefit packages. For more than 10 years following that, Gail worked at a small, high-end brokerage providing full-service management for over 50 clients including the design, marketing, quoting, implementation, service, and claims follow up for a variety of industries including law firms and notable artistic establishments. Gail developed a knack for special risks, dealing with kidnap & ransom, ex-patriate coverage, and unusual or special risks for clients. Gail’s close work coordinating human resource teams with their insurers allowed a seamless transition into general manager, administrator, and IT coordinator for a family-based health consulting firm.
For the past six years she has juggled these activities with quality control work in insurance audit. Her current responsibilities include edit, peer-review, IT and operations projects, controlling data, and workflow improvement for the group. Volunteerism runs strong within Gail as an organizer and fundraiser for non-profits and schools, as well as activities such as website design, tournament management, and marketing, culminating in local awards for her work with sports and school groups.
Nancy Moreau
Nancy began her insurance career in automobile claims, working her way through the Ontario Accident Benefits schemes before making the change to commercial underwriting. She joined Dominion of Canada’s commercial underwriting team in Toronto overseeing the commercial risk portfolios for a group of small to medium sized brokerages in Ontario. Nancy has a Bachelor of Arts – Honours Economics and holds the designations of Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional (FCIP) and Certified Risk Manager (CRM). Following completion of her CRM, Nancy worked as Assistant Risk Manager at a leading financial and leasing firm managing risk exposure for the entire corporate insurance portfolio. Nancy’s most recent experience dealing with international shipping and compliance within food regulation standards in Canada has helped develop her focus for the group in organizing complex assignments, specialist and project management, and communications.
Tracey Cole
Tracey has over 20 years’ experience in various segments of the insurance industry with a focus on claims. She has also been involved with underwriting, compliance, risk management, systems, and internal/external audit during her 4+ years with CA Insurance. Included in that overall experience is 16years working with Lloyd’s of London as a Claims Analyst where she developed and maintained effective relationships with insureds, various Lloyd’s Syndicates, Lloyd’s Brokers, independent adjusters, counsel and experts. She successfully operated within Binder & Service Level Agreements with various Lloyds Syndicates and as such possesses a strong understanding of the delegated authority market. Tracey earned her CIP designation from the Insurance Institute of Canada and is a member of the Risk Management Consultants of Ontario (RMCO).
