Gail Ashbury, Chief Technology Advisor (Experts)
Gail brings considerable experience in group and health insurance with a focus in special risks and unusual placements. Gail graduated from Queen’s University and started her insurance journey with handling health & dental claims, progressing to short-term disability and complete group benefit packages. For more than 10 years following that, Gail worked at a small, high-end brokerage providing full-service management for over 50 clients including the design, marketing, quoting, implementation, service, and claims follow up for a variety of industries including law firms and notable artistic establishments. Gail developed a knack for special risks, dealing with kidnap & ransom, ex-patriate coverage, and unusual or special risks for clients.
Gail’s close work coordinating human resource teams with their insurers allowed a seamless transition into general manager, administrator, and IT coordinator for a family-based health consulting firm. For the past six years she has juggled these activities with quality control work in insurance audit. Her current responsibilities include peer-review, IT and operations projects, controlling data, and workflow improvement for the group.
Volunteerism runs strong within Gail as an organizer and fundraiser for non-profits and schools, as well as activities such as website design, tournament management, and marketing, culminating in local awards for her work with sports and school groups. Gail’s personal interests include photography, painting, travel, and gardening.
